The Amex stadium opened it's door for a footballing event for the first time when the Sussex County FA took up the club's offer to host the Sussex Senior Cup Final as one of the stadiums "ramp up" events to test the systems

Around 7,000 people took the chance to see the first game at the stadium as Brighton and Hove Albion reserves defeated Eastbourne Borough 2-0, with Seagulls legend Gary Hart making history by scoring the grounds first ever goal.
