League leaders Southampton arrived at The Amex facing a
Brighton side who had failed to score in four, losing
every game along the way. This naturally resulted in a
3-0 victory for the Seagulls over their old adversaries
from last seasons League One title picture. The game
turned with the sending off of Rickie Lambert for
striking Adam El Abd as goals from Jake Forster-Caskey
and a Matt Sparrow brace secured a deserved victory for
Brighton before captain Gordon Greer decided to give
himself a three match ban as well for a punch
