Crocs on Tour > 2004-05 > Lewes
Lewes - Tuesday 03/08/04

With just 4 days till the start of the season, Mark McGhee's men needed a stern challenge - and you don't get much sterner than the Super Rooks of Lewes. The newest edition to the Conference South included such starts as Barrington Belgrave, Luke Cornwall and Adebola Bankole. There was no better way to start off Crocs on Tour than with a game of this caliber.

Mode of Transport:
We took the 15 minute train journey from Brighton to Lewes for this game, and then a 5 minute walk to the ground through the scenic county town of East Sussex.
Team:
A reserve line-up of: May, Reid, Rents, El-Abd, Hammond, Nicolas, Currie, Budd, Jarrett, Robinson, Beck.
Kit:
The dashing new Argentinean home strip was worn, and Chris May wore a sexual ivory green goalkeepers jersey with matching shorts.
Mark McGhee's Attire:
A fabulous light blue shirt with black pin stripe blazer and no tie, black suit trousers and black suit shoes.
Weather:
Warm and sunny, a fine dusk evening over The Dripping Pan.
Stadium Rating:
This ground is something special. Entitles 'The Dripping Pan', it was all it was billed to be. A fabulous terrace and 3 grass banks, one completed with a small wooden seated area on top off one of the banks. One of the best grounds we are likely to visit this season. 9/10
Food Rating:
A cheeseburger was £2.40. The burger was twice the size of the bun and cheese, which made it quite a challenge to eat. An interesting effort none-the-less, well enjoyed by us food experts. 6/10.
Entertainment:
None provided at the ground except for the gay romp that happened between two boys in front of us. 4 separate ticket machines at Brighton station rejecting Tom Witham's £20 note was a highlight as we almost missed our train.
Friendliness of Locals:
Some were ok, although we had a heated exchange with one bunch of fierce lads between 12-15 over our flag, although we believe them to be inbreds.
Standard of Local Females:
Disappointing. One young blonde in front of us was scantly dressed, but she was about 15 and was smoking. 4/10
Flag Attention:
Lots. The fact it reads 'OVYFC, THE CROCS' gave us an edge over your usual flags, as one gentlemen commented 'god knows what that's about'
Match Report:
A 2-2 draw and an entertaining game of football. Jake Robinson and Paul Reid were on the score sheet, as Albion showed their skill and talent against the Ryman Division One South Champions
Thought of the Day:
Tom Witham came up with a fabulous one. "What if everyone individually ran into the center circle and took the clothes off, and left a big clothes pile in the middle, and we spent the rest of the game naked. We could do we want as the pile would obscure peoples view from the other end"
