Crocs on Tour > 2008-09 > Hartlepool United - FA Cup Replay
Hartlepool United - Tuesday 18/11/08

Thanks to a candidate for own goal of the season from Colin Hawkins, we were forced into making a second trip to Hartlepool in a month, this time for an FA Cup first round replay. The two trips were split up by the even longer journey to Carlisle the previous Saturday, making it a ridiculous 2028 miles in 25 days supporting the team. Not dettered by this shocking statistic, the Croc Love Wagon made the journey to the north east, in the hope that the Albion could continue the FA Cup dream by landing a glamour tie away at either Leiston or Fleetwood in the second round.

Martindale seemed happy with the choice of continental cheese on offer
A Morrisons lorry - we could only hope it would Alan Hansen or Richard Hammond behind the wheel

We soon overtake the team coach on the way into Hartlepool
This sign gives hope to residents of the town - there are ways to escape
Upton continues his record of being a ketchup fiend, using no less than 9 sachets with his burger meal

This Merry Christmas sign within the pub was considered slightly premature
The lights of Victoria Park come into view as we head towards the ground
Upton somehow managed to fall off a wall, leaving this large dent in a hedge
The sheer number of people in the away end made it difficult to find a suitable seat
Mendoza struggles with the famous Hartlepool hotdog
While Stewart is delighted to see a James Brown poster on offer in the programme

Kuipers and Tommy Elphick prepare for action
This pole proved to be a hindrance while watching the game
If this picture hadn't of blurred, it would be obvious that Eoghan Quigg of X Factor fame was on the bench for the home side
Upton merely required some form of whippet to complete the look of a northerner
The packed stand
This man takes refuge by standing right at the very front
Brighton take a shock lead
Andy Whing soon requires treatment after recieving a ball to the wedding vegetable
Stewart was sporting this fantastically retro headphones
Even when half eaten, McCarthy's hotdog is still bigger than his head
Glenn Murray has an equaliser ruled out for offside
We prepare to bundle into the car for the long journey back home
McCarthy is soon requiring a petrol stop
As an Esso employee, he boasts of his ability to get the amount of petrol spot on

Unfortunately, this is a lie as he ends up with the classic 1 pence over mistake
The seasonal picture of Uptons penis is taken at Scotch Corner services
It has been a life long dream for many to snack and shop at Scotch Corner, and the day was not totally wasted as the Crocs lived it
A grand total of eight Eddie Stobart lorries were seen over the course of the outing
McCarthy went through an average speed check at 65 for the first half of it, meaning that his speed had to be severely reduced for the second part to make the average. This resulted in a lorry overtaking
The inside of Uptons mouth
We arrive back in Northampton, were the journey went its separate ways
Mendoza shows off his ticket stub, unfortunately now rendered useless for priority tickets for the second round game
It is 2.39am when McCarthy finally arrives back in Cheltenham
