Mode
of Transport:
McCarthy, Oaf and Valder spent the Friday
evening in Bradford watching the rugby league
clash between Bradford Bulls and Castleford
Tigers, which saw a short train journey to
Leeds. Potter made the trip from Brighton |
 |
Team:
Gustavo named a 4-5-1 line-up of: Brezovan,
Calderon, Virgo, Elphick, Painter; Bennett,
Navarro, Dicker, Crofts, Lua Lua; Murray |
 |
Kit:
Leeds were in their world famous kits of all
white. Brighton appeared in the away uniform of
red and black stripes, black shorts and red
socks. Peter Brezovan returned to the team in
the emerald green goalkeepers shirt with black
shorts and socks |

Gus
Poyet's Attire:
Gus was in his suit with no tie combination |
 |
Weather:
A fresh but clear day in Yorkshire |
 |
Stadium
Rating:
Elland Road is, despite being home to The Leeds
United, a ground that is beginning to fall
behind the times somewhat. The impressively
large East Stand is nice enough, but the
remainder of the stadium is becoming dated with
a distinct lack of leg room. This can, however
lead to a good atmosphere. 6/10 |
 |
Food
Rating:
No food was taken. Beer was, however, best
described as a total rape in terms of prices. It
was good to see cider on offer though. 3/10 |
 |
Entertainment:
Nothing on offer. 0/10 |
 |
Friendliness
of Locals:
A mixed bag. In the pubs they were friendly
before and even after the game, in which we
frequented a particularly rough looking pub
where the only problem was an over-the-top hug
that nearly killed McCarthy from a large bald
man (not Russell Slade). Potter was however
started on, although this may have been because
he loudly compared the Albion defence to a
derogatroy term for a disabled person in earshot
of somebody who it unfortunately turned out had
a disabled sister. 5/10 |
 |
Standard
of Local Females:
Very high in and around the city, meaning that
Leeds upholds Yorkshires reputation as being one
of the best places to see top Razvan in the
country. 8/10 |
 |
Steward
Rating:
Despite one looking just
like Mark McGhee, they were to put it frankly,
tossers. Forced all Albion fans to sit down
despite allowing home supporters to stand, and
then ended up roughly ejecting a number of fans
in the second half. 1/10 |

Flag
Attention:
The Crocs flag was not taken to this game |
 |
Match
Report:
A 95th minute equaliser saved the blushes of
Leeds United in a 1-1 draw with struggling
Brighton and Hove Albion. A game devoid of any
chances was sparked into life by a Glenn Murray
penalty and then the sending off of Adam Virgo
for what can only be described as a shocking
tackle, before the home side popped up with a
goal with virtually the last kick of the game |
 |
Thought
of the Day:
With the FA Cup in town and available for a
picture for the purchasing of just one pint of
Carlsberg, McCarthy and Potter were able to help
themselves to unwanted Carlsbergs left in the
pub by people who purchased them simply to get
the photo. Unfortunately, this thought backfired
as we ended up picking up Strongbow and Fosters
pints, suggesting that these were infact wanted
pints that had been paid for with the intention
of being drunk |
