Mode
of Transport:
A simple train journey to London Bridge and then
to Charlton was the method for this one |
 |
Team:
A 4-1-2-1-2 line up incorporating the diamond
midfield of: Ankergren, Calderon, Greer, El Abd,
Painter; Kishishev; Sparrow, Dicker; Bennett;
Murray, Barnes |
 |
Kit:
Charlton were in their famous uniforms of red
shirts, white shorts and red socks. The Albion
had no need to change and so went with the blue
and white striped home jersery, blue shorts and
blue socks. Casper appeared in his emerald green
jersey with black shorts and stockings |
 |
Gus
Poyet's Attire:
Gustavo indicated that winter was approaching,
choosing to combine his normal suit jacket with
a v-necked pullover. Once again, no tie was
present |
 |
Weather:
A fresh yet clear day over south east London |
 |
Stadium
Rating:
The Valley is arugably the best ground in the
division having hosted Premier League football
only a few seasons ago. The main stand and home
end are large two tiered affairs, while a large
single tiered stand is on the remaining side.
Visiting supporters are housed in an old stand
behind the goal which allows a cracking
atmosphere to be created, even if it is a total
nightmare to exit. 8/10 |
 |
Food
Rating:
Owing to there being 3500 Albion fans in the
ground and only one small concession, no food
was partaken |
 |
Entertainment:
A couple of poorly dressed mascots, including
what appeared to be a cat was a poor effort.
2/10 |
 |
Friendliness
of Locals:
Charlton fans are reknowned for their
friendliness, and so it proved today with them
being not just friendly but extremely
complimentary despite the thrashing they had
received. 9/10 |
 |
Standard
of Local Females:
A fair few sawts were wandering around the
stadium, and being London there were a large
number of high-standard girls on display. 7/10 |
 |
Steward
Rating:
Slightly over the top in
their ejection of several fans, although did a
fine job in ensuring that those infront of the
disabled area sat down while allowing others to
stand. 7/10 |
 |
Flag
Attention:
Due to the packed away end, the executive
decision was taken not to take the flag to the
game |
 |
Match
Report:
Brighton opened up a three point gap at the top
of League One with a sensational 4-0 win at
Charlton Athletic. Inigo Calderon gave the
Seagulls a first half lead and Glenn Murray
doubled the advantage in the second half. The
introduction of Kazenga LuaLua from the bench
proved to be the nail in the Charlton Athletic,
as he scored one himself before setting up Matt
Sparrow in the last minute to complete the rout |

Thought
of the Day:
If the only way that Falmer could be opened
would be in order for you to publicly perform an
oral sex act on Tony Bloom yet receive no
credit, would you do it? |
