Mode
of Transport:
The train was used to reach the fine city of
Sheffield, and from there a Crocs first occurred
as we took advantage of the cities tram system
to reach Hillsborough |
 |
Team:
Gus went with a 4-5-1 formation consisting of:
Ankergren, Calderon, El-Abd, Elphick, Painter;
Bennett, Smith, Kishishev, Dicker, Barnes;
Murray |
 |
Kit:
Sheffield Wednesday were in their famous
uniforms of blue and white stripes, black shorts
and blue socks. The Albion appeared in the away
number of red and black stripes coupled with
alternative red shorts and standard issue red
socks. Casper went with an emerald green jersey,
black shorts and socks |

Gus
Poyet's Attire:
Gus went back to basics with the fashion
favourite straight from the Mark McGhee summer
collection of suit, no tie and top button undone |
 |
Weather:
Despite it being grey and dreary on departure
from Sussex, Sheffield was blessed with warm
weather and around midday even sunshine |
 |
Stadium
Rating:
A proper football ground with a modern feel,
Hillsborough is a Crocs on Tour favourite. Three
large, covered single tear stands are a reminder
of days gone by when standing ruled despite
their now being all seater, and the double
tiered main stand is a classic in its own right.
9/10 |

Food
Rating:
Unfortunately, only one kiosk was open and the
queue was so long that it was decided it wasn't
worth it |
 |
Entertainment:
Nothing of any note |
 |
Friendliness
of Locals:
South Yorkshire is known for its friendly folk,
and the Wednesday fans didn't let the region
down. Some friendly banter was exchanged on the
packed tram to the ground. 8/10 |
 |
Standard
of Local Females:
The general consensus from six years of Crocs on
Tour is that South Yorkshire also scores highest
in standard of local females. This was upheld in
fine fashion by some of the talent wandering the
streets of Sheffield, although not so much at
the ground. 8/10 |
 |
Steward
Rating:
Delightful. Allowed fans to
both stand and do so where they wanted. 8/10 |
 |
Flag
Attention:
The Crocs flag was taken to this game, but our
position in the lower tear prevented its usage |
 |
Match
Report:
Brighton suffered their first league defeat of
the season at the hands of a Sheffield Wednesday
team who many are tipping to go far. The Owls
took the lead through a fine goal from Giles
Coke, although they could have been reduced to
ten men by that stage after Neil Mellor's push
in Adam El-Abd's chest resulted in the Albion
defender going down like he'd been shot
clutching his face. Despite that, a lack of
penetration cost the Seagulls dear as they left
Hillsborough pointless |

Thought
of the Day:
Following a particularly busy Pride event in
Brighton two weeks ago, one man was heard to
comment of his experience "I know its
pride, but walking in to find two blokes
shafting in a toilet isn't really on" |
