The Forty Notes Fund - Quiz Night 29/06/06

Two years on from the last quiz, and it was time again for the Crocs and 'Team Turienzo' to enter the fray and attempt to claim the crown of quiz kings. With Stewart, Witham and McCarthy joined by Mr Chris 'Damanclay' Clayton, and a selection of McCarthy's guests, the team were confident of winning. Unfortunately, it would end in embarrassment for the Crocs, after McCarthy and his guest Charlie turned up shockingly drunk following the completion of exams.

Mode of Transport:
We arrived separately for security purposes, with McCarthy and guests taking the train and Stewart and Witham arriving via bus.
Team:
Rounded tables ensured there was no opportunity for a formation, but the Crocs lined up Clayton, Witham, Stewart, McCarthy, Humphreys, Moran, Vickers.
Kit:
There was no formal kit used by the Crocs on this occasion.
Mark McGhee's Attire:
Mr McGhee was not present at today's quiz, so one can only guess what he was wearing, although we would like to think it would be nothing.
Weather:
A fine summers day was on offer with hot weather, cooled down via the air conditioning system inside the arena.
Stadium Rating:
The Old Ship hotel was slightly more up market than the previous venue of The Ladies Mile Pub, with a fine carpet and decor. Unfortunately, the labyrinth of corridors proved to be slightly confusing, as Kev 'The Ape' Ticehurst found out when he managed to end up in the kitchens when attempting to find the toilet. 7/10
Food Rating:
No food was experienced within the arena, but the drinks were overpriced. 3/10
Entertainment:
The Quiz Master did a rather good job of entertaining the fans, while the raffle also provided light relief from the taxing effort of the quiz. 7/10
Friendliness of Locals:
Extremely friendly, but with a room full of Brighton fans this was to be fully expected. 9/10
Standard of Local Females:
There was a rather disappointing lack of females in the arena today, although we pursued the classic line of questioning when a young lady offered us raffle tickets at £1 for a strip, pondering if that was the top or the bottom.
Flag Attention:
Both McCarthy and Stewart forgot to bring the flags.
Match Report:
With McCarthy and Charlie slightly on the drunk side of the equation, it was always going to be difficult for the rest of Team Turienzo to perform to a high standard without those two models of intellect taking part. However, the team did well enough to earn a mid table finish.
Thought of the Day:
None
