What with it being just two
weeks since our last visit to the Amex, we decided to head
up to a number of vantage points around Falmer in order to
photograph the near-completed stadium shell from the
distance. Two things were very striking - that, when the
club said it would "blend into the
surroundings", they were talking absolute tripe. And
when the opposition said it would be "spoil an area
of outstanding natural beauty", they were talking an
equal amount of rubbish. As our pictures show, it looks a
truly stunning structure on the Sussex landscape. On a
closer inspection, the West Stand exterior is now all up,
the main part of the bridge at Falmer station is erected
and it surely won't be long until the stadium has reached
the point where you will no longer be able to see into it.

The Amex
looks truly stunning - even more so if it wasn't for
the bloody mist that had descended!
