Incase
you hadn't heard about it, the Albion have a pretty big
game against Aston Villa this coming Saturday. The hype
surrounding this game has seen an utter farce over ticketing,
inflatable's and balloons, but perhaps most worryingly
it has bought a more alarming matter to the attention
of Brighton fans everywhere - Gus Poyet does not have
a song.
Albion
fans have a proud tradition over innovative songs for
their managers - Steve Gritt and later Russell Slade were
hailed through the medium of verse for their baldness,
while Mark McGhee was serenaded with an anthem regarding
him drinking pints of whiskey to the tune of 'Let it Be'
by The Beatles. Mr Poyet has been at the club for just
over three months now and yet - nothing. It is such a
pressing matter that it has even made the pages of local
newspaper The Argus.
Having
poured through the
North Stand Chat thread regarding potential songs
for Gus, We Are Brighton have pooled together what we
feel are the top efforts and presented them, together
with their YouTube originals, alongside a few of our own,
frankly, pretty poor attempts for you to judge and cringe
over at your own leisure:
I
Wanna Dance With Gus Poyet Inspired
by Whitney Houston's dancefloor anthem, this one
gained early popularity on North Stand Chat after
being suggested by We Are Brighton's very own
Scotty Mac Lyrics:
I wanna dance with Gus Poyet
I wanna feel the heat with Gus Poyet
Yeah, wanna dance with Gus Poyet
With Gus Poyet who loves me
Gus
Poyet wooo-ahhh-ooohhh A
popular terrace chant already, this adaptation
of Dean Martin's 'Volare' has instigated much
debate over what the final line should actually
be Lyrics:
Gus Poyet wooo-ahhh-ooohhhh Gus
Poyet wooo-ahhh-ooohhhh
He came from Uruguay
He'll make the Seagulls fly
Gus
Poyeeet That
annoying Go Compare advert featuring the tenner
is given a new lease of life with this beautiful
adaptation Lyrics: Gus
Poyeeet, Gus Poyeeet,
Forget the rest; we’ve got the best with Gus Poyeeet,
With Forster scoring
And Seagulls soaring,
Then you’ll thank your stars that you went with
Gus Poyeeet
All
You Need Is Gus Popular
during the Doug Loft song craze that swept the
terraces last season, this is a simple adaptation
of the Beatles anthem All You Need is Love Lyrics: All
you need is Gus
All you need is Gus
All you need is Gus, Gus
Gus is all you need
Gus
Poyet aha aha I like it KC
and the Sunshine Band demonstrated their lyrical
genius with this tune. Showing similar ability
for song writing with this new take on an old
favourite, this is a simple adjustment to the
bulk of the song with the "That's the
way" line being replaced with Gus Poyet Lyrics: Gus
Poyet aha aha I like it aha aha
Gus Poyet aha aha I like it aha aha
Gus Poyet aha aha I like it aha aha
Gus Poyet aha aha I like it aha aha
Gus
Poyet's Alright For Fighting Representing
the gay capital of Britain, it seems a shame that
more Elton songs are not utilised. Saturday Nights
Alright For Fighting offers the chance to rectify
that, with the final chorus section being craftily
substituted with Gus' name Lyrics: Gus
Poyet, Gus Poyet, Gussss Poyet
Gus Poyet, Gus Poyet, Gussss Poyet
Gus Poyet, Gus Poyet, Gussss Poyet
He's alright
