Brighton and Hove Albion star Lewis Dunk

Club Career
Lewis Dunk started his professional career with Brighton on April 30, 2010. He signed a two-year contract with the English club after captaining its youth for several seasons.

He played his first senior game on May 1, 2010, against Milton Keynes Dons. The centre back signed a one-year contract extension with Brighton on January 31, 2011. He helped the club get promoted to the Championship.

Dunk began the 2011-2012 season alongside Gordon Greer while Adam El-Abd and Tommy Elphick were sidelined by injury. Brighton loaned him for one month to Bristol City on October 4th 2013. He played his first match for City on October 8th 2013 in the EFL Trophy.

He returned to Brighton and signed a four-year deal on July 25, 2014. The British footballer scored the first Brighton goal of the 2014-15 season against Cheltenham Town.

The centre back played the whole game in Brighton’s first English Premier League match. He scored an own goal in the 2017/2018 season against Swansea City.

He was among the top English Premier League players with most own goals that season. Brighton finished in 15th place in their debut Premier League campaign.

Dunk signed another new five-year contract with his club on October 5th 2018. Graham Potter, the club’s manager, chose him as the captain before the 2019-20 season started.

Dunk captained Brighton in their first game of the season against Watford. He scored against Liverpool and Manchester United late last year.

Dunk was involved in an unusual VAR incident after John Lundstram challenged him. Brighton and Dunk wanted the referee to give Lundstram a red card but the Virtual Assistant Referee decided against it. Neal Maupay scored a header in the 30th minute for Brighton’s equaliser.

Cooks, BBC’s football analyst, praised the game between Brighton and Sheffield United. Brighton managed to equalise despite the difficult weather conditions. Dunk did well to deal with several Sheffield United players which prevented them from scoring the winning goal.

According to Crooks, Dunk was calm after Lundstram’s tackle. He is one of the few Premier League outfield players that have played more than 8,800 minutes in the EPL. The BBC

Lewis Carl Dunk is the centre back for the England national team and Brighton. He started playing in the Premier League in 2016 and the club chose him as its captain this season.
