Busy summer for Brighton as transfer targets identified

Speculation over Brighton and Hove Albion’s transfer dealings has been rife ever since the final ball of the 2021-22 season was kicked.

It was a positive campaign for Graham Potter and his Seagulls, but the downside is that several key players have become targets for other clubs.

At this stage, both Yves Bissouma and Marc Cucurella have left the Falmer Stadium. Bissouma has moved to Spurs and Cucurella to Chelsea. The question now is who is likely to come in as replacements?

Seagulls Looking to Soar
Any manager in Graham Potter’s position will often claim that the first target is to avoid relegation. Following their ninth place finish in May, Brighton should really be aiming higher than that but it’s true that the Seagulls need to consolidate.

They certainly have the support of the sports betting industry in this respect. The best football betting sites affiliated with Arabianbetting.com have the three newly promoted clubs, Nottingham Forest, Fulham and Bournemouth, as the favourites to be relegated at the end of next season.

Leeds United and Brentford are next while Brighton and Hove Albion are relative outsiders for the drop. While the aims are greater, that’s a good starting point.

Those figures are subject to change and the relegation market will be very flexible once the new season gets underway.

As the updates come in, Arabianbetting.com will make these available to their readers. News stories and additional content will appear, together with extensive reviews of the sportsbooks mentioned.

All of those bookmakers are ready to take on new customers and, if any visitor is happy to proceed, it’s possible to follow the links to a registration page. Sign-ups are quick and secure and many of those betting sites have generous welcome offers waiting on the other side.

Different methods for deposits and withdrawals are on hand to get the account moving while customer services can help with both the registration and the funding process.

Once onboard and playing regularly, other benefits can include in-play markets, mobile betting and a choice of other sports from around the world.

It’s a one stop shop for all football betting but who are the men that Brighton need to sign in order to ensure that they don’t get sucked into a relegation scrap?

Defensive reinforcements
MK Dons centre-back Harry Darling is attracting a lot of interest from Premier League clubs. The 22-year-old defender only joined from Cambridge United in 2021 but he’s become a regular in the first team at Milton Keynes.

As well as being solid in defence, Darling has been useful up front at set pieces and scored ten goals for MK Dons last season. The Seagulls have been linked with his signature but competition may come from Chelsea, Norwich City and Swansea City.

Another young defender is believed to be on Graham Potter’s radar. Ross Sykes is on the books at Accrington Stanley and was set to join Royale Union Saint-Gilloise – a Belgian outfit run by Brighton owner Tony Bloom.

It’s conceivable that the English club will want to monitor Sykes’ development in Belgium before bringing him into the Premier League at a later date.

Where are the goals?
While the defence is set to be shored up, manager Graham Potter will want to assess his options at the other end of the pitch. With a significant number of players linked with a move away from the Falmer Stadium, a new striker should also be a priority.

Links to the Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz remain. The Chilean international enjoyed a prolific start to the 2021/22 season and, while his tally tailed off in the second half of the campaign, he remains a strong prospect.

Elsewhere, it’s also thought that Brighton will reignite their interest in Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic when the current round of international games comes to an end.

The Austrian international has a healthy scoring ratio in the Bundesliga and is said to be ready for a new challenge.

With Yves Bissouma and Marc Cucurella gone, the need to rebuild at the Falmer Stadium has been brought into sharper focus.
