Graham Potter positive despite losses

This isn’t the first time that Brighton and Hove Albion have displayed pretty good football skills on the pitch in an EPL season and yet have come away with no reward.

In the recent game against Tottenham, the team was in total control of the game during the first half, leading with a headed goal by Adam Webster through a Pascal Gross free kick.

However, they let José Mourinho’s Tottenham get the upper hand in the second half and allowed them to come out on top with excellent finishes by Dele Alli and skipper Harry Kane, giving the home side 3 valuable points.

Although the defeat was quite harsh for Brighton, coming out with little or nothing despite delivering a good performance is something that has become a recurring problem for Graham Potter, their head coach.

It’s also a reason of constantly growing frustration in the team as well as amongst their supporters. Many are of the opinion that perhaps Brighton requires someone of the calibre of Zlatan Ibrahimovic who can completely take the game away in a matter of a few seconds. Here’s the latest on the talented Swedish forward for anyone who wishes to learn more.

Potter believes they’ve come out with many positives

Talking to the press, coach Graham Potter said that they have come out of the game with plenty of positives and that players gave everything they had.

He sympathised with the team for the fact that they had to come away without anything yet again, however, also emphasised that this is what Premier league is all about. And that they must learn the importance of small margins. He hoped that the team will get back on its feet quickly and have a go again.

In his opinion, the team must continue working on the little things, paying plenty of attention to the smaller details. Regardless of what they do, the fact remains that scoring points in the English Premier League is no easy task.

He further explained that he was very pleased with the team and that it had been a difficult time for some of the players who played their first game in a while.

Brighton and Hove Albion are placed 15th on the leader board right now, having played 19 matches and scoring 20 points from them.

By the time this piece gets published, they would have already played their crunch encounter against Bournemouth, who also had 20 points from 19 matches going into the game.

Mourinho also praised the side

The win scored by Spurs lifted them up to the 5th place on the table, keeping them in the running for a top 4 finish. José Mourinho, the Spurs manager spoke about Brighton and said that they are an excellent team and have some very strong players. He accepted that the

team is extremely strong in the air and never makes it easy for the opponents to score goals. He further admitted that the way they played did affect the self-esteem of Spurs’ players
