Have casino sites made real-life casinos popular again?

Land-based casinos have seen a little bubbling of popularity coming back – but still not back to the dizzying heights of previous years. The online casino stole the crown many years ago and has held it tightly for many years.

There have been a few contributors to the rise in land-based casino attendance, though.

Cult Movies
Some of the best movies of all time feature some type of gambling. The camera pans around, seeing people with cups of coins at slot machines, people throwing chips in the air because they scooped a big win, and those bent over the felt studying their cards.

There are a couple of movies that have really made an impact, including 21, Casino, The Cooler, Ocean’s Eleven, Molly’s Game and Rounders.

And while most movies focus on blackjack or poker, there are a couple of noteworthy nods for bingo too! The Simpsons, Grandma’s House, and the 1983 classic Mama’s Family. In Mama’s family, she adopts an orphan so she can collect her $3 million bingo win – luckily, when you play a reputable casino site with bingo like Megaways Casino, collecting winnings is a lot easier!

Internet
While the internet has meant that we can all access online games – it also means we are much more likely to use it to look for special offers, new places to go and sign up for newsletters. And this also translates to when you are taking UK breaks too! Websites like Tripadvisor and local blogs are packed with information about local places.

And when it comes to tourist-rich places like Brighton, there are usually a few casinos dotted around! The same internet that increased the popularity of online casino gaming has helped people find land-based casinos to visit.

Casino Websites
While online casinos are a lot of fun, and the developers have made sure that they replicate land-based casinos as much as possible, the temptation to go and sit at a real poker table, tap the nudge button on a slot or just take in the atmosphere at the bar creeps in.

After all, land-based casinos are known for their glamour, relaxed atmosphere and hospitality. So when you master the online version of your chosen casino game, checking out a land-based casino seems like a pretty good idea!

Are casinos popular in Brighton?

Brighton is well-known and loved for being a melting pot of people and offering so many activities and sights. Tourists love Brighton for the pier, the sea and the people.

It is home to a racecourse where you can enjoy a meal and watch horses tear around the track.

Aside from that, Brighton has a couple of land-based casinos, and you’ll find plenty of slot games and other arcade games on the pier – which is a smash with tourists and locals alike.

While Brighton might be most popular for its seaside views and inclusive atmosphere, the casinos have plenty of visitors!

Which Brighton Casinos Should You Check Out?
After a day soaking up the sun on the beach or exploring the Brighton Lanes, it might be time for a little bit of grown-up entertainment. While the nightlife in Brighton is incredible, and you’ll find any number of live music venues and DJs playing, the casino offers an incredible atmosphere and tasty refreshments too.

Rendezvous Casino
Tripadvisor has the Rendezvous Casino with a healthy four-stars, and they say they are the biggest gaming place in town. Most of the reviews say the staff are fantastic, the prices for refreshments are reasonable, and, more importantly, it is a great first-time casino-goers option.

With free entry and seven days a week opening – and a restaurant that overlooks the gaming floor, no wonder Rendezvous is popular!

Pier Nine (Grosvernor)
Pier Nine is more than just a casino; it is a leisure, gaming and entertainment space.

Inside you’ll find several spaces, including The Clubhouse for Shuffleboard and American Pool. The View restaurant, which offers stunning views of the sea and craft beers, The Den is a karaoke bar perfect for private parties, and two casinos offering roulette, poker, blackjack and more.

If you don’t mind waiting for a table (gaming) because they don’t have too many, then Pier Nine is fine. Reviews for their private packages are great, though!

Genting Casino
The Genting Casino has the highest rating of all of the casino venues in Brighton – even though it doesn’t offer the views that the others do. While you might not get to see the waves lap the beach in the evenings, you will get a traditional casino experience.

They call themselves a boutique casino and have a combination of new tech gaming machines and traditional tables.

While land-based casinos can be a heap of fun, sometimes there is nothing like snuggling on the sofa and playing your favourite games on a mobile app with a cup of tea instead – but it is nice to have the choice!
