What does summer 2020 look like for football?

COVID-19 has completely changed the pace of the world. It has forced us to adapt to a completely new lifestyle and that definitely hasn’t been easy.

But we are not the only ones who have to undergo these major changes. There is basically no sector or industry left untouched by the new coronavirus. And while some used this period to thrive and get ahead, others haven’t even been given that opportunity. And one of those industries is football.

With all of the events that were supposed to be held this past couple of months canceled, many are waiting for the comeback of football matches.

Most of the footballers, coaches, and everyone that has anything to do with football have been going through a rough patch with literally nothing to do.

But they aren’t the only ones suffering though, as there are millions of avid football fans who have had to either cancel their plans to see their favorite football teams play in real life or that just simply miss the adrenaline of watching football.

The chief executive thinks that some of the mandatory measures must include regular drink breaks, change in the terms of the way players train, and the duration of their training sessions.

Lucky for them, they have all the help they might need to adjust to the new schedule. With all the strength and conditioning coaches, nutritionists, and medical staff they will have all sorts of necessary help and guidance.

Even though some are still skeptical, a lot of Premier League footballers who are mostly full internationals are planning on participating in tournaments this summer.

And while all of this is happening, Paul Barber refuses to commit to the idea that the Premier League could be expanded in the event of its inability to finish the campaign that it started, by scrapping relegation and promoting the top clubs from the championship.

Some of the leading clubs like West Bromwich Albion or Leeds United can expect the right to promotion while the ones at the bottom of the Premier League list are quite unlikely to accept being replaced in the top-flight if the season is not concluded.

According to Barber, they are focusing on football slowly starting to go back to normal and concentrating on the need to finish the season for the best possible sporting outcome, both in the championship and the Premier League. But they are trying to achieve this goal by advancing in baby steps.

Even though no one really knows what’s going to happen, the executives are trying to predict what the summer is going to be like, and for now, they are using that prediction as a guideline of action and hoping that they are doing the right thing.
